The Lansing City Market was looking to do something unique and fun for Mother’s Day. Instead of the usual brunches that other venues do, the idea was to create a tea party event with light snacks and live music. The event was received well and will hopefully be repeated.
The original concept from the marketing team was to emphasize the tea party aspect. Pinks, light blues, turquoise were requested as was a table setting that would be included a tea party. Going with a less literal approach, I made the movement in the items of the background guide a viewers eyes to read through each bit of information on the poster.

The Lansing City Market was seeking to help support the art community. With it came the idea for the Grand River 2nd Saturday Art Walk. The design of the poster draws inspiration from the pop art style in order to use bold color choices to draw attention and interest to the event.
